OKC Dodgers look to knock it out of the park in 2022 with various promos and theme nights

The Oklahoma City Thunder isn’t the only professional sports team in Oklahoma City. Did you know that the Los Angeles Dodgers, one of the most successful and storied teams in Major League Baseball history, have their Triple-A baseball team based right here in Oklahoma City?

The Oklahoma City Dodgers are members of Minor League Baseball (MiLB), competing in the Triple-A West Division. OKC has had a MiLB team here for decades that were affiliated with several different Major League Baseball (MLB) clubs, including the Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros, among others. They have played as the 89ers, RedHawks and, most recently, the Dodgers. There was even a stretch back in the early 1900s when they were the Mets and a short time later, the Indians.

After winning the American Conference North Division title three out of the last six seasons and playing in one Pacific Coast League Championship since their move to Oklahoma City in 2015 – the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic – the OKC Dodgers are ready to hit the diamond in 2022 and recreate that winning formula.

The Dodgers will play a 39-game home schedule in 2022 and will play their season and home opener at 7 p.m., April 5, at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark against the Albuquerque Isotopes. Single-game tickets are now on sale for games in April, May and June. All tickets will be digital and are available for purchase online at okcdodgers.com.

Dodger fans will enjoy a fun-filled season in 2022 with lots of promotions planned throughout the home schedule beginning with a free Fan Movie Night Saturday, March 26, prior to the start of the baseball season. This event welcomes Dodger fans back to the ballpark, featuring a classic baseball movie shown on the center field videoboard at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. If this is something you would like to attend, you will need to RSVP soon to reserve your spot. It is also a great time to pick out your reserved seats if you are interested in purchasing season tickets.

Baseballs won’t be the only things exploding out of “The Brick” this season! Friday Night Fireworks returns following each Friday night game and the Opening Night game on Tuesday, April 5, and Independence Day Celebration game Monday, July 4. And what baseball fan doesn’t enjoy attending a game when giveaways are involved? On Friday, April 29, the Dodgers will be giving away OKC Dodger hats to the first 1,000 fans who enter the ballpark. Then on June 24, the first 1,000 fans will receive an OKC Dodgers water bottle, followed by the Dodgers Bobblehead Giveaway July 23.

Other gameday highlights for the 2022 season include promotions such as Bark in the Park May 28 when you are encouraged to bring your dog to the ballpark. A special ticket package includes a game ticket for you, one for your furry friend and a Dodgers dog bandana. (Tickets for Bigfoot or Chewbacca sold separately!) The award-winning Revel, Speed Painter on May 6 is one of several outside entertainment acts performing this season that also includes Loop Rawlins: One Man Wild West Show June 10. To find out what other promotional highlights, entertainment acts or theme nights are scheduled for the Dodgers’ 2022 season, please visit the OKC Dodgers’ website.
