Oklahoma City launches interactive map to explore public art across the city

By Chamber Staff / Lifestyle / April 8, 2026

Oklahoma City is making it easier than ever to explore its growing public art scene, with a newly upgraded interactive map that puts hundreds of installations at residents’ fingertips.

Developed by the city’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, the new tool transforms a previously static resource into a dynamic, user-friendly experience. Built using ArcGIS StoryMaps, the platform allows users to browse public art across Oklahoma City, click into individual pieces and learn more about the artists, materials and stories behind each work.

The map serves as a digital guide to the city’s public art collection, which spans murals, sculptures and installations located in neighborhoods, parks and public spaces throughout the city. Users can explore pieces by location, making it easier to plan self-guided tours or discover art in areas they may not typically visit.

The update reflects a broader effort to make public art more accessible and visible, while helping connect individual pieces into a more cohesive story about Oklahoma City’s cultural identity. By bringing the collection into an interactive format, the city is also creating a tool that supports tourism and encourages deeper engagement with local spaces.

As Oklahoma City continues to invest in placemaking and quality-of-life initiatives, public art plays a key role in shaping how residents and visitors experience the city. The new map adds another layer to that effort, offering a simple way to explore creativity across the community.

Residents can explore the interactive map and start building their own art tour by visiting the city’s online StoryMap.
