Park and Ride on OKC’s Streetcar
Did you know you can ride the colorful streetcar for free if you park in one of EMBARK’s public garages around the city?
EMBARK has five public garages near streetcar stops which are open 24/7. When you park in one of their five garages, your parking receipt is your ticket to ride the streetcar for free all day! Each parking receipt is valid for two people to ride for 24 hours from the time of parking—a steal if you were making a day trip tour of OKC.
The Oklahoma City Streetcar system has two routes and seven cars to choose from. The longer loop, which covers 4.86 miles, goes through downtown OKC and features 22 stops and five different districts. The smaller two-mile loop through Bricktown has 9 stops and travels through two districts.
In addition to being a cost-effective way to get around the city, the streetcars are clean, safe, environmentally friendly, and fun! Due to the pandemic, many ride-sharing programs are low on drivers. Opting for the streetcar to get from point A to B provides a much more predictable option for transport.
If you have never ridden the OKC streetcars, you may not be familiar with the paths they take. Consider checking out one of these self-guided tours already planned for you! On VeloCityOKC.com, you can find a brunch tour, caffeine crawl, and a brewery crawl. If you are feeling creative, you may come up with your own themed tour of the city.
With their low cost and ease of use, it’s hard to think of a reason not to give the OKC streetcar a try.
