Satisfy that sweet tooth by visiting these OKC-area candy shops during National Candy Month

By Richard Hall / Lifestyle / June 6, 2023

We see the beginning of so many wonderful things during the month of June: summer, wedding season and National Candy Month.

You heard me: June is the month when you can imbibe in candy of all kinds, and no one can stop you. You don’t want to be left out or be considered a Debbie Downer for not celebrating, right?

Then get out your GPS and search for these local candy stores to visit during National Candy Month.

Woody Candy, 922 NW 70th St.

The oldest candy manufacturer in the state is basically in your backyard.

From English butter toffee, pralines and fudges made from scratch to an assortment of hard candies and specialty confections, Woody Candy has your palate covered.

Bricktown Candy Company, 100 E. California Ave.

This candy shop is like something out of a movie: floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall candy. They carry all the classics like Pop Rocks, saltwater taffy, PEZ, licorice and various chocolates.

But what makes them unique is their assortment of bulk candies, soda and gelato.

Lolli & Pops, 1901 NW Expressway (in Penn Square Mall)

One stroll past Lolli & Pops and your olfactory will have you doing a U-turn faster than you can say “candy.”

Yes, it’s a national chain, but it’s also one of the best places in the entire metro to find candy-related gifts. They sometimes even have an assortment of international candies, which are always fun to try!

Pinkitzel, 150 N. EK Gaylord Blvd. and 14110 N. Pennsylvania Ave.; 2001 W. Main St., Norman

While you’re in one of the metro area’s Pinkitzel locations to grab a decadent cupcake, be sure to stock up on some seriously good candy, which is offered prepacked and in bulk.
