By Chamber Staff / Lifestyle / March 10, 2026

Oklahoma City is preparing for a busy stretch of sports this spring, with major events scheduled across the metro over the next several months.

Over an 11-week stretch, nine different weekends will host citywide sports events, bringing athletes, families and fans to Oklahoma City venues and helping drive visitor activity across the region.

The lineup includes everything from NCAA championship competitions to large youth tournaments that attract teams from across the country.

March Madness returns to OKC

College basketball takes center stage in March as Oklahoma City hosts the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship at Paycom Center.

The games will be played March 19 and March 21.

This marks the first time since 2016 that Oklahoma City has hosted the men’s tournament.

Teams and matchups will be revealed during Selection Sunday on March 15. Demand for tickets has already been strong, with 75% of the 54,609 available seats sold ahead of the event. Once participating teams and fan bases are announced, organizers expect the remaining tickets to move quickly.

Youth volleyball tournament brings hundreds of teams

April begins with one of the largest youth sporting events Oklahoma City has ever hosted.

The Adidas Lone Star Classic National Qualifiers will take place April 3–19 across three weekends, bringing more than 770 teams to Oklahoma City to compete in the national qualifying volleyball tournament.

The event draws thousands of athletes, coaches and families from across the country and highlights the continued growth of girls and women’s sports at the youth level.

Memorial Marathon returns in April

Later in the month, runners from across the country will gather for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, scheduled for April 24–26.

Known as the “Run to Remember,” the event honors those killed, those who survived and those changed forever by the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

Last year, roughly 25,000 runners participated across race weekend events, with participants traveling from all 50 states and 18 countries.

Organizers say registration is up 22% year over year, following record participation in 2025.

Gymnastics championships arrive in May

Oklahoma City will host the USA Gymnastics Development Program National Championships May 6–10, bringing more than 1,700 youth gymnasts to the city.

The event features top young athletes from across the country and serves as an important step in the competitive pipeline that can lead to collegiate programs, national team opportunities and, for some athletes, future Olympic competition

Wrestling regional brings thousands of athletes

The USA Wrestling Southern Plains Regional Tournament is scheduled for May 15–17, with more than 2,000 wrestlers expected to compete.

The regional tournament serves as a qualifying event for national competitions and represents an important step in the development pipeline for young wrestlers, including athletes who may eventually compete at the Olympic level.

The event brings one of the nation’s largest regional youth wrestling competitions to Oklahoma City, drawing athletes and families from across the region.

Memorial Day weekend packed with tournaments

Memorial Day weekend will feature multiple events, including the USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) Memorial Day Shootout, scheduled for May 22–25, which is expected to bring more than 250 baseball teams to Oklahoma City.

Women’s College World Series returns

The NCAA Women’s College World Series, one of Oklahoma City’s signature sporting events, returns May 28 through June 5 at Devon Park.

The tournament is coming off record attendance of 119,778 in 2025 and continues to draw national attention to the city each year.

Youth softball tournaments round out the schedule

The spring sports calendar also includes the Triple Crown OKC & USSSA Road to the Show tournament May 29–June 1, which will bring more than 470 youth softball teams to the metro.

A major stretch for OKC sports

Together, these events highlight Oklahoma City’s growing reputation as a destination for major sporting competitions.

From nationally televised championships to youth tournaments that bring thousands of visiting families, the spring sports calendar continues to generate significant economic activity while showcasing the city’s ability to host large-scale events.
