As the leaves pop out from the trees, the flowers emerge from the dirt and the green grass sprouts from the ground, events are reappearing in Norman!

Although not the usual three-day festival, the annual Medieval Fair (https://www.visitnorman.com/events/2021-medieval-fair-food-to-go-event) will be taking place both online and outdoors at Reaves Park April 9-11. This year, taking pandemic precautions, the outdoor elements will be a food-to-go event with all the fair favorites including the turkey legs. Patrons will be able to park for free inside Reaves Park and walk to the food trucks to get their favorites and then take them home to watch the entertainment and shop the vendors online.

Later in the month, the Oklahoma Sooner football team will present a preview of the 2021 OU team at the Spring Game (https://www.visitnorman.com/events/2021-oklahoma-sooner-football-spring-game). Kickoff for the game will be at 4 p.m., with the Party at the Palace pregame starting at 11 a.m. with food trucks, live music and more. Plan your #NormanGameDay (https://www.visitnorman.com/pages/explore/oklahoma-sooner-football) at a Norman Original restaurant ( https://www.visitnorman.com/eat?venue_type=norman-originals) and more.

The Norman Farm Market ( https://www.visitnorman.com/events/2021-norman-farm-market-saturday ) reopens for the season in April, with two shopping opportunities from 8 a.m. to Noon Saturdays and 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Did you know that Norman’s Lake Thunderbird ( https://www.visitnorman.com/pages/explore/lake-thunderbird ) is the state’s largest urban park? The lake is located about 10 miles east of Downtown Norman and offers family camping, fishing, boating, biking, trails and archery hunting in select areas. Every April Saturday at 10 a.m., the Discovery Cove Nature Center offers a chance to watch turtle feedings. On April 17 at 1 p.m., there will be a “What’s that Bird?” event. Also, the Calypso Cove marina features one of Norman’s newest most-instagrammable spots, the LOVE art installation.

Through June 1, a City of Norman ordinance requires mask wearing indoors. More information about precautions, proclamations and ordinances are available: https://www.normanok.gov/norman-coronavirus-updates
