The annual 12x12 Art Fundraiser is back, this year at Lively Beerworks
Chamber member Lively Beerworks will host the 34th annual, one-night-only 12x12 Art Fundraiser by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) on September 16.
The fundraiser serves as an exhibition of 175 of Oklahoma’s finest artists, each offering an artwork fit to the event’s square format requirement. Each two-dimensional artwork must measure 12 inches tall by 12 inches wide in overall size. Three-dimensional works must be 12 inches in height, width, and length.

Artworks are then auctioned off to enthusiasts, with bids beginning at $200. OVAC receives a percentage of each sale that is used to help fund additional programs throughout the year. Artists receive the remaining percentage earned, unless they opt to invest the funds into the coalition.
Artists whose work sells are automatically invited to participate in the following year’s fundraiser.
Live entertainment, local food, and a cash bar will be included in the event, as well.
OVAC provides an online resource to where money earned and donated may be spent. The coalition is credited in providing $28,000 in grants and awards to artists each year, with 20 percent of the organization’s funds being raised at the annual 12x12 Art Fundraiser. Funds also help establish more than 10 professional development events for over 200 artists and allow over 10,000 readers to have free access to Art Focus Oklahoma, a quarterly OVAC publication that provides artist profiles, gallery and museum reviews, and more.

A preview exhibition of over 70 12x12 artworks has been held at The Art Hall in Oklahoma City’s Uptown 23rd District since August 11. The preview exhibition allows visitors to get an idea of what they can expect from the official show for free.
The official 2022 12x12 Art Fundraiser will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, September 16 at the downtown Lively Beerworks location at 815 SW 2nd Street.
Tickets can be purchased online for $45 in advance, or in-person for $50 at the door. Children, 16 and under, are admitted for free.
