Visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum

By Erick Perry / Lifestyle / April 11, 2023

Binding locals and visitors alike, the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum serves as a staple of United States history.

Located in the heart of downtown, the museum memorializes the site of one of the nation’s worst domestic terrorist attacks. Divided into two sections – indoor and outdoor – the museum allows for emotional connection at any hour of the day for free through its Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, built in place of the former Murrah Building. It features a plaza overlook, field of honorary chairs, reflecting pool and survivor’s tree. The timing of the event is etched in the formal entrances of the area.

Inside, visitors can learn about the event and its impact through an interactive experience. Housed within the Murrah Building’s surviving neighbor, the museum provides visitors a self-guided tour experience, reflecting on subjects from those who were killed, survived or changed by the event to the world’s response following.

The interactive museum is open seven days a week – excluding select holidays – Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or in person, with special discounts for seniors, military, students and children under five.
