Advention conference to bring marketing and communications pros to OKC

By Staff Reports / Member News / February 19, 2020

ADvent10n will bring hundreds of marketing and communication professionals together in Oklahoma City.

American Advertising Federation’s Oklahoma City chapter will host a regional advertising, design and marketing conference, ADvent10n, on April 17-18 at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel.

ADvent10n is an annual convention put on by AAF clubs throughout the nation. AAF District 10 includes nineteen clubs from Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as four Ad2 affiliate clubs derived from OKC, Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

ADvent10n is an invaluable opportunity for attendees to network beyond their usual circles and learn the latest trends in marketing, advertising, content, communications and technology.

Advent10n boasts keynote speakers from Adobe, Springboard Creative and Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Stores. There will be also breakout educational workshops and professional panels covering technology, public relations, design and more. The convention also includes the inaugural Mosaic Awards to recognize people who have shown a commitment to diversity and inclusion through creative works and workplace initiatives.

"We're really looking forward to hosting Advention2020 in Oklahoma City and want to invite all the OKC-area communications pros to join us for some great learning and networking experiences," said Jennifer Seaton, director of Visit Edmond and Adven10n Chair. "We have some great educational breakout sessions on topics as diverse as new web and app design trends, to filmmaking and creativity, to podcasting, to crisis PR management, from customer experience and behavior change campaigns to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and more, from well-known presenters and pros. Attendees will also enjoy fantastic, inspirational keynote addresses and networking opportunities galore."

Student attendees will also compete in the annual National Student Advertising Competition ("NSAC") on Wednesday and Thursday. Fiercely competitive among students in the Tenth District, the competition provides students the opportunity to showcase their experience in market research, conceptualization, design, execution and pitching. The Tenth District is among the largest regional competitions in the United States.

Full conference registrations for professionals are $399 and include access to the opening reception and Governor's Ball gala atop the city at Vast. AAF OKC is also offering a limited-time "buy three, get one free" registration deal for attendees who wish to attend with colleagues or friends.
