As part of an ongoing effort to give back to the communities they serve, Bank of Oklahoma employees directed a $10,000 donation to Pivot Inc, a nonprofit focused on helping vulnerable youth find stability and independence. Additionally, employees selected the Science Museum of Oklahoma to receive a $5,000 donation.

The nonprofits were selected through Guide the Giving, an annual program that allows employees to nominate organizations and vote for a recipient in their market.

Brooke Martin, a community relations specialist with Bank of Oklahoma, nominated the program because she’s passionate about the museum’s ability to bring families together and provide educational opportunities to rural parts of the state.

“I have amazing memories from my childhood, being able to run through the mirror maze or climbing on the Mighty Mouth exhibit with my cousins. Hosting imaginary weather reports in front of the green screen was always a favorite,” said Martin. “I want to see the museum continue the great programming they have built and be able to share it with future generations.”

Chris Childress, a private wealth market manager with BOK Financial, said Pivot got his nomination because, “A $10,000 investment in Pivot does more than meet needs—it fundamentally changes the trajectory of a young person’s life.”

“The work these nonprofits do is so impactful, and we’re proud to support organizations that are making such a real, lasting impact right here at home,” said Greg Wheeler, Oklahoma City market president for Bank of Oklahoma. “This donation is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices of our team. Our employees nominated and voted for the nonprofit they felt most passionate about, and that speaks volumes about the kind of community we’re building—both inside and outside our company.”
