District court ruling impacts Greater Choice Oklahoma
On March 28, 2019, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a court decision that impacts plans being offered through the Greater Choice Oklahoma program. An aggressive appeal of the court decision is underway by the U.S. Department of Labor (U.S. DOL). Due to the Court’s decision and until the appeal process is completed, Greater Choice Oklahoma is temporarily suspending quoting for new enrollment.
Companies that have secured coverage under the plan will maintain coverage through the end of their current contract. Other companies looking for coverage will not be able to enroll at this time.
"We are dismayed by this delay," said Roy Williams, president and CEO of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. "We remain dedicated to expanding access to affordable health care coverage options for Oklahoma City businesses. We will support efforts to appeal this ruling and resume offering this valuable program to our members as soon as possible."
