Dobson unveils new logo, focus on fiber

Over the years, Dobson Technologies grew to be one of the most trusted names in telecommunications throughout Oklahoma. Known as a regional leader in voice and high-speed internet technology in the business world, it became clear that Dobson’s focus for the future was its fiber networks.  To cultivate greater awareness throughout the region, the Dobson team has unveiled a new name and new logo as part of an extensive rebranding initiative.

The name change and branding initiative anticipate the organization's focus and growth in the coming years while drawing on the strong reputation Dobson has maintained since the 1930s. From the initial efforts of Everett "Doc" Dobson to bring phone service to rural Oklahomans, through the multi-state, ever-expanding fiber optic footprint Dobson maintains today, the company has had the same focus: connecting people.

Changes in business and consumer needs over the last year pushed rebranding efforts into the foreground. While fiber technology has lived at the core of Dobson's operations for many years, accelerated adoption of cloud-based business operations in 2020 heightened the need for fiber-enabled connectivity.

The rebranding efforts are about more than just drafting a shiny new logo. Dobson's evolution represents where the company's focus will be moving forward: fiber-optic communications. The new brand messaging is designed to help customers, both current and future, understand the values that Dobson Fiber brings to the region.

"Our focus is on building the most reliable and fastest fiber optic networks throughout Oklahoma and parts of Texas and Arkansas," said Francisco Maella, CEO of Dobson Technologies. "Our name needs to represent our mission to our customers, and that is to continue to grow and support our state-of-the-art fiber networks."

The current pandemic has dramatically affected the everyone’s work life. As a result, there has been a dramatic increase in demand for more reliable bandwidth, whether your business resides in a rural or metro area. This affirmed a belief that Dobson companies have held for many years: no matter where you choose to live and work, the latest technology should be widely available.

Executives at Dobson Fiber want to make a bold statement, of course, but then continue providing the strongest, fastest network to back it up. The newly unveiled Dobson Fiber logo includes shades of blue and teal, colors known to reflect trust, professionalism, and security, terms that many customers have used when describing Dobson.

Kurt Kraft, President of MIDCON Recovery Solutions LLC, has partnered with Dobson numerous times over the years. A vital feature Dobson Fiber enables for MIDCON is a secure, point-to-point circuit for data center customers. "I have trust in the Dobson network to be able to deliver," Kraft said. "If I didn't believe in the network, I wouldn't sell it to my own customer."
