Introducing: OKC bioscience leaders set to speak with community

The Oklahoma City Innovation District will host an introductory event on July 19 at the OSU Harold Hamm Institute for American Energy from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The 'Introducing' series will serve as an opportunity for the Oklahoma City community to hear from bioscience industry leaders and companies through a panel discussion.
The panel will include CEO of OU Health, Dr. Richard Lofgren; SVP and Provost of OU Health Sciences Center, Dr. Gary Raskob; and President of Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Dr. Andy Weyrich.
Attendees will also be invited to participate in a question-and-answer segment with industry leaders before the conclusion of the event in a happy hour social.
Oklahoma City’s Innovation District has been referred to as an upcoming epicenter for regional innovation and economic development. The 13-square mile district incorporates some of the city’s more notable institutions like Oklahoma Health Center, University Research Park, Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education, and more.
Recently, a high-ranking EDA official visited Oklahoma City as a part of a grant application process to further improve the city’s bioscience industries. The visit included a trip to Stephenson Cancer Center in the Innovation District, where the official witnessed research occurring to treat and cure different forms of cancer.
'Introducing' will provide a proper introduction to the district's newest leaders on July 19.
You can visit the Innovation District website to register for the event.
