Lively Beerworks invites the community for a birthday party

Lively Beerworks is teaming up with Bike Club OKC to celebrate three years of being in business. The Lively Birthday Party is a celebration of community and supporting local. Join them on Saturday, December 11, 2021, for a festival-style party with over 75 beers to sample from local breweries all over the state, bubble machines, food, party favors, a raffle, Silent Disco, and of course, birthday cake.
Lively Beerworks is a Brewery that came from a love of beer and a love for Community. Founder, Patrick Lively, was born and raised in Oklahoma City, and after working in Politics and Teaching, he spent nine years working in the Beer Industry before branching out on his own. Lively Beerworks exists for the pure love of time-honored traditions of brewing beer. What began as a hobby became an obsession with creating honest, classic brews that people can enjoy. Lively Beerworks contributes a new, honest brew to a thriving community of makers.
A portion of proceeds (and 100% of the raffle) will go to Bike Club OKC, a great local charity that organizes afterschool cycling programs for students in Title I schools throughout the OKC metro. Bike Club’s president and program director, Alyssa Lutz, is an esteemed and accomplished cyclist with multiple National Championship titles. A couple of years ago, her biking career was almost eradicated with a fall and injuries that posed a threat to her life. Alyssa sustained a brain injury, a flail shoulder and chest, seven broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and a broken scapula from her accident. Alyssa made a miraculous recovery and took time while she was off the bike to find another sense of purpose.
“During times of thought and prayer with my loved ones,” Alyssa said. “I realized that I could continue my passion for health and wellness while simultaneously giving back to the community.”
Now in its third year of operations, Bike Club OKC serves students at Nichols Hills Elementary School, Thelma Parks Elementary School, and Del City Middle School. Students learn about safe cycling and STEM while focusing on the ABCs: Attendance, Behavior, and Coursework. Over 20-25 weeks, each student develops the knowledge and responsibility to take care of a bicycle; airing up tires, checking and adjusting the brakes, adjusting the chain and derailleur, changing a tire, and many other important bicycle-maintenance skills. Students who complete the program earn a bike, a helmet, a safety vest, safety lights, a bike lock, and a bike pump, leaving the program with the tangible and intangible tools to ride with confidence.
“Bike Club is so excited to be a part of Lively Beerworks Birthday Celebration,” Alyssa said. “Lively does an amazing job of supporting our community and we can’t imagine a better partnership. The party will be a wonderful way to come together and celebrate many great successes!”
