M-D Building Products announces senior leadership changes

Chamber member M-D Building Products, Inc. has announced some changes in its senior leadership team. 

President Ryan Plotkin has been promoted to chief executive officer (CEO) and president. Loren Plotkin, current chairman and CEO, will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

This year, Loren celebrates his 40th year with M-D, where he has served as president and/or CEO since 2000.

 “On behalf of the entire Plotkin Family, we appreciate the hard work and efforts of every team member,” Loren said.  “Each person has a role in building a sustainable and fulfilling future for M-D Building Products. We believe that being a strong, private family-owned business allows us to build on our long-term relationships with our customers and employees across the U.S. and Canada. I am excited to support the business and its leaders as it continues to grow and thrive in the years to come.”

Ryan joined M-D in 2008 and has held various roles including global business manager, vice president of operations and chief operating officer. He has served as president of M-D since 2021.

“As part of the family ownership of M-D, I am deeply committed to the long-term growth of the company,” Ryan said. “The people and process investment will always be at the center of what we do. I am humbled to continue the preservation and enhancement of our current culture to ensure the goals are consistently aligned with our vision and mission,” Ryan said.

Josh Plotkin has rejoined M-D as executive vice president after earning a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. Josh said he is excited to continue working alongside his brother Ryan to support M-D’s strategic goals. 

“We are very fortunate to have ‘new’ family leadership that is passionate about M-D and wants to carry on the legacy and foundation that have been built for us,” said Jim Webb, an M-D board member. “I look forward to watching the company’s continued success through Ryan and Josh’s leadership and the company’s talented team.”

The leadership changes are effective immediately.
