OKC VA to host Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 8
Veterans Day, which is observed on November 11, is intended to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank living Veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served – not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty. On this day, we remember and pay tribute to the millions of patriots whose courage and sacrifice have secured our freedom. In commemorating this day, we express our deep appreciation for the duties they have discharged.
You are cordially invited to attend and help us honor our special heroes, as we observe Veterans Day at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. A special recognition program is scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the OKC VA Medical Center’s Health Wing. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Dutch Doerman, Psychologist with the Substance Treatment and Recovery Program at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. A reception and visits to the patient wards will follow immediately after the program.
