Our Blood Institute opens new office in north Oklahoma City

By Chamber Staff / Member News / September 4, 2026

Our Blood Institute celebrated the opening of its new north Oklahoma City office Aug. 11, bringing nearly 250 metro-area employees together under one roof.

The company-owned office serves as a central hub for departments supporting OBI’s work across Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. The new space also gives new life to a previously vacant building in a growing area of north Oklahoma City.

“This new office reflects how much Our Blood Institute has grown over the past 50 years and where we’re headed next,” OBI President and CEO Dr. John Armitage said. “It gives our team a space to work together more effectively while keeping us rooted in the Oklahoma City community that has supported our mission from the beginning.”

OBI employees, board members, hospital and community partners, elected officials and other supporters gathered for the grand opening and ribbon cutting. U.S. Reps. Frank Lucas and Kevin Hern and state Rep. Eric Roberts were among those in attendance.

Greater Oklahoma City Chamber Senior Vice President of Membership and Investor Relations Hardy Watkins closed the ceremony by recognizing OBI’s longtime impact on the community.

“The work that you do day in and day out moves our community forward, and that matters,” Watkins said. “And the innovation that's been happening here for decades matters.”

OBI has been a Chamber member for more than 49 years and will celebrate 50 years of Chamber membership in March 2027.
