Parkhill’s commitment to Oklahoma’s growth is rooted in community

Parkhill, a full-service architectural and engineering services firm, is steadily making its mark across Oklahoma—not with flashy entrances, but through quiet consistency, thoughtful design and a deep investment in local communities. Parkhill continues to grow across the state while staying true to the mission that has guided it from the beginning: building community by creating inventive, relevant built environments together.
From rural roots to regional reach
Founded in smaller markets across West Texas in 1945, Parkhill has expanded over the decades to serve urban and rural areas across the Southwest. Since entering Oklahoma in 2020 through a merger with the long-standing Cardinal Engineering and Lemke Land Surveying and CHAHTA Architecture in 2024, the firm has more than doubled its local team—from around 40 employees at the time of the merger to over 80 across the state today. Most of the same faces from the original teams are still present today, serving neighbors they’ve known for decades.
“The name may be new to some, but the people and the work are not,” said James Howard, AIA, a practice leader in Parkhill’s Norman office. “Many of the professionals who joined Parkhill through the mergers have been serving Oklahoma communities for more than 30 years. They live here, raise families here and understand what these communities need because they’re part of them.”
Designing with purpose
This steady growth is matched by an expanding footprint. Parkhill’s four Oklahoma offices—in Oklahoma City, Norman, Tulsa and Woodward—keep the firm close to the communities it serves. Whether it’s revitalizing urban spaces in downtown OKC, supporting the expansion of the University of Oklahoma, or improving aviation infrastructure at airports statewide, Parkhill’s work touches all walks of life across the state. Its aviation practice alone ranks among the top three in Oklahoma—a testament to the firm’s technical strength and commitment to sectors that keep the state moving forward.
“Our aviation work is especially meaningful right now,” said Toby Baker, PE, a senior civil engineer in Parkhill’s Aviation Sector. “With the state prioritizing investment in this sector, we’re proud to play a leading role.”
Community-first philosophy
Beyond infrastructure and design, Parkhill continues to invest in the communities where its employees live and work. In the past year alone, the firm has provided more than $30,000 in pro bono design services for The Mission food pantry in Norman, as well as multiple other donations to deserving nonprofit partners throughout the state.
Looking ahead, Parkhill’s momentum in Oklahoma continues to build. From new higher education projects to early efforts in K–12 design, the firm remains committed to growing with purpose, blending innovation and experience to help Oklahoma’s communities thrive for generations to come.
