Paycom employees donate $40,000 to conservation foundation

By Chamber Staff / Member News / September 1, 2022

Employees from Chamber member, Paycom, recently awarded $40,000 to the PADI, or Professional Association of Diving Instructors, AWARE Foundation, an organization working to improve marine habitats, protect vulnerable species, and help climate sustainability.

“Environmental conservation impacts everyone, which is why I’m thrilled our team members are supporting PADI AWARE for the fifth year in a row,” said AJ Griffin, Director of Community and Government Affairs at Paycom.

“Paycom continues to be an active steward of the environment through sustainability. Working with organizations like PADI AWARE protects the underwater world so future generations can enjoy our oceans and the life they sustain.”

Team members from Paycom’s Oklahoma City and Texas-based locations spent a combined 110 hours collecting trash near the Oklahoma River and Oak Grove Park in Grapevine, Texas as an additional effort in helping climate sustainability.

The donation was made through Paycom’s employee giving campaign that provides employees with opportunities to interact with local and national nonprofits.

The PADI AWARE Foundation promotes global ocean conservation through educational programs.

“Together with critical supporters like Paycom, we have the ability to rally together advocates for our oceans and create new avenues for marine education,” said Jack Fisherman, Community and Campaigns Officer at PADI AWARE Foundation.

The foundation also helps establish policies that protect vulnerable marine life and contribute to scientific findings on marine debris. In over 30 years, PADI AWARE Foundation has extracted over 2 million pieces of debris from the ocean.
