Ronald McDonald House OKC expands to 68 rooms, welcomes new CEO

By Chamber Staff / Member News / October 28, 2026

For families traveling to Oklahoma City for a child's medical care, having a place to stay nearby can make an already difficult experience a little easier. Ronald McDonald House Oklahoma City is expanding its ability to provide that support, adding accommodations as it welcomes new leadership.

The nonprofit recently opened its second Ronald McDonald House, bringing its total capacity to 68 rooms across the city. The expansion coincides with a leadership transition as Jenna Morey takes over as president and CEO following Susan Adams' retirement after 15 years.

Morey, who officially stepped into the role Oct. 1, will guide the organization as it builds on more than four decades of helping families remain close to their children during medical treatment.

Expanding support for families

In September, Ronald McDonald House OKC opened its second location on Memorial Road, adding 28 bedrooms to its existing accommodations. The expansion increases the organization's total capacity to 68 rooms across Oklahoma City, allowing it to serve more families while strengthening its partnerships with local healthcare providers.

In addition to its two houses, the organization operates the Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Oklahoma Children's Hospital, providing another source of support for families navigating a child's medical journey.

The additional accommodations represent a significant step in the organization's efforts to remove barriers for families seeking medical care for their children.

"Our purpose is simple, but the impact is profound: when a child needs healthcare, family stays," Morey said. "And we stay with them. We give families a place to rest, a community to lean on and the comfort of knowing they are not alone, so they can focus on what matters most: their child."

New leadership builds on established foundation

Morey's appointment follows the retirement of Adams, who served as CEO for 15 years and helped guide the organization's development and growth.

Teri Williams Ashworth, chair of the Ronald McDonald House OKC Board of Directors, credited Adams with building a foundation that will support the nonprofit's continued service to families.

"Susan's leadership has helped shape Ronald McDonald House OKC into the thriving organization it is today," Ashworth said. "Her vision, dedication and unwavering commitment to families have built a strong foundation for the future."

Morey brings 20 years of public service experience to her new role. She joined Ronald McDonald House OKC in early 2026 as part of a planned transition, spending several months becoming familiar with the organization's operations, history and mission before officially assuming leadership.

"I am deeply honored to serve as President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House OKC and to build on the incredible work of the people who have carried this mission forward since 1984," Morey said. "We have an extraordinary opportunity in front of us: to serve more families, strengthen more partnerships and make sure no family has to face a child's medical journey alone."

A refreshed identity for the next chapter

The organization is also introducing an updated visual identity, including a new logo and color palette, to reflect its growth and the families it serves.

While the branding is changing, the organization's mission remains focused on keeping families together and providing support when children need healthcare.

The updates come as Ronald McDonald House OKC looks to build on its expanded capacity and partnerships under Morey's leadership.

"Families are a force," Morey said. "They show up, they keep going and they do whatever it takes for their children. Our job is to help give them the fuel they need to keep moving forward."

With two houses, a presence inside Oklahoma Children's Hospital and expanded capacity to accommodate families, Ronald McDonald House OKC is preparing to serve more families as it enters its next chapter.
