Eleven days left to apply for FEMA assistance after March wildfires

Oklahomans affected by the March 14–21 wildfires and straight-line winds have just two weeks left to apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline to apply to FEMA is Tuesday, July 22.
Homeowners and renters in Cleveland, Creek, Lincoln, Logan, Oklahoma, Pawnee, and Payne counties who suffered property damage or displacement are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Assistance may cover costs such as home repairs, temporary housing, medical expenses, vehicle damage and more.
To apply, visit DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMA App or call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. CT. Support is available in multiple languages.
In addition to FEMA aid, survivors may also qualify for low-interest disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). These loans can help homeowners, renters and businesses recover more fully and may include funds for code upgrades, mitigation measures or even refinancing an existing mortgage.
Applicants are not required to accept a loan if approved—but must apply before the deadline for the option to remain available. SBA loans may also be used for relocation or to rebuild stronger against future disasters.
