Oct. 9 is the deadline to register to vote in Oklahoma

Oklahomans who want to cast a ballot in the Nov. 3 general election have until Friday, Oct. 9, to register to vote or update their voter registration.
The Oct. 9 deadline applies to new voter registrations as well as changes that need to take effect before the general election. Oklahoma requires voter registration applications to be submitted at least 25 days before an election.
Oklahomans can register online through the OK Voter Portal if they have an Oklahoma driver license or state ID and a signature on file with Service Oklahoma. Voters can also submit an application by mail or in person through their county election board or a voter registration agency. Applications submitted by mail must be postmarked by Oct. 9 to be processed in time for the general election.
Already registered voters can also use the OK Voter Portal to confirm their registration information, find their polling place and view a sample ballot specific to their precinct.

What’s on the ballot?
The Nov. 3 general election will give Oklahoma voters a say in races at the federal, state and local levels.
Statewide offices on the ballot include governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state treasurer, superintendent of public instruction, labor commissioner, insurance commissioner and corporation commissioner. Voters will also decide a U.S. Senate race, while congressional, legislative, county and other races will vary depending on where a voter lives.
Two state questions will also appear on ballots statewide. State Question 845 proposes changes to the Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Commission, while State Question 847 addresses limits on annual increases in property values used to calculate property taxes.
Because individual ballots vary by district and location, voters can use the OK Voter Portal to view a sample ballot for their precinct before Election Day.
