Oklahoma City will celebrate a safer, more walkable Broadway Avenue as the Automobile Alley Streetscape project reaches completion. The city will hold a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Nov. 25 on the southeast corner of Broadway Avenue and NW 9th Street. Mayor David Holt will lead the ceremony.
A striking new addition to Oklahoma City’s skyline is taking shape in the Flatiron District. On Sept. 23, project leaders, developers and designers broke ground on the Berry Rock Building, a four-story landmark at 616 N. Walnut Ave. expected to serve as a bridge between downtown and the growing Innovation District.
Momentum continues to build in Midtown as “The Eddie,” a new mixed-use development, moves toward construction in 2026. The project, located on the former EMSA headquarters site at 1111 Classen Drive, will feature apartments, retail space and a public park with an amphitheater, adding a new layer of vibrancy to one of Oklahoma City’s most walkable districts.
Thanks to the support of voters, businesses and community leaders, Oklahoma City voters approved a $2.7 billion general obligation bond package on Oct. 14. The package will fund 547 projects across the city without raising the property tax rate.

Historic Capitol Hill marked a milestone Sept. 24 with the ribbon-cutting for a new outdoor multicultural plaza along Calle Dos Cinco. The space, located on Harvey Avenue between SW 24th and SW 25th Streets, was designed as a hub for cultural events, community gatherings and local business activity.
Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) and Metro Technology Centers marked the opening of the new Aviation Center at Southeast High School with a ribbon cutting earlier this month. The center is among the first “flex spaces” funded through the $1 billion OKCPS bond package approved by voters in 2022.
