A series of open house discussions on upcoming MAPS 4 projects will continue to be held throughout February, gathering input on EMBARK Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and MAPS 4 Neighborhood and Community Parks.
Oklahoma City was ranked as more affordable than every other city on the list due to its relatively low housing costs and overall cost of living. The site’s evaluations came from a metric system, which graded cities on a 100-point scale – 100 representing the best possible score. With each of the four included categories representing 25% of the overall grade, the site then broke each category down into specific qualities.
RIVERSPORT OKC has announced plans for a $1.4 million Oklahoma Trailhead and Bike Park project to coincide with the city’s recent expansion of its trail system. Once completed, cyclists will be able to make a 45-mile loop around Oklahoma City on paved trails, in addition to mountain bike trails and jump lines.
This past August, EMBARK, which provides bus, ferry transit, bike share and downtown parking solutions in the Oklahoma City metro area, was awarded a $6.8 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration to purchase new compressed natural gas (CNG) and electrical vehicles (EV) for its fleet of buses and vans.
The OKC Streetcar has officially passed the one-million-riders mark. The voter-approved MAPS 3 public transportation project has been in service since December of 2018.
Downtown Oklahoma City will soon welcome an additional five-story building. The Muse apartment complex is a high-density, mixed-use development that will add to the ambience of the city’s downtown arts district.
