The Oklahoma City Innovation District will soon welcome a “once-in-a-generation” biomanufacturing workforce training center (BWTC) program to benefit all Oklahomans. One of the only programs of its kind within the United States, the BWTC program presents inclusive, non-degreed careers within the city’s emerging bioscience industry.
Construction began this week for one of the 13 trails included in the Better Streets program. Deep Fork Trail begins on Grand Boulevard where the Katy Trail ends, just south of I-44 and Grand Boulevard, a quarter mile south of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The trail will continue west of the Deep Fork River over Western Avenue and under I-44, connecting to the Grand Boulevard Trail that currently ends on the ramp to westbound I-44.
The Oklahoma State Fairgrounds is building a new arena on its premises. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday, December 9. Construction is expected to begin shortly thereafter.
A three-day party is planned to celebrate the completion of the MAPS 3 Scissortail Park with the opening of the 30-acre Lower Park on September 23. Two years after the upper portion of downtown’s Scissortail Park opened to much fanfare, construction on the lower portion is now complete.
The Gilded Acorn is the latest addition to downtown Oklahoma City’s First National Center. The pastry shop is a concept of renowned chef Andrew Black, widely known for his efforts in establishing local favorites Black Walnut and Grey Sweater.
Downtown Oklahoma City will soon welcome an additional five-story building. The Muse apartment complex is a high-density, mixed-use development that will add to the ambience of the city’s downtown arts district.
Bricktown is building on the ongoing evolution of Oklahoma City with the addition of a $275 million project that will be erected by 2024. The project will incorporate two towering hotel concepts, and a residential tower.
Midtown is making room for more developments with the addition of a four-story, mixed-use building at the corner of North Hudson Avenue and Northwest 11th Street. The 48,000 square foot project is the latest development in an ongoing reclamation of the North Hudson block by Chamber member Pivot Project Development.
