OKC Council approves $4.75M for USS Oklahoma City memorial, set to open in 2026

The Oklahoma City Council has unanimously approved funding for a long-awaited memorial dedicated to the legacy of the USS Oklahoma City (SSN-723) submarine, which is set to open in 2026. The Council voted to allocate $4.75 million for enhancements to Wiley Post Park, the chosen site for this significant tribute to the submarine and its sailors.

OKC’s Diversion Hub breaks ground on expanded facility

Officials marked the groundbreaking of the MAPS 4 Diversion Hub project on Tuesday, marking the initial stages of construction for a new facility on Linwood Boulevard. The 2.59-acre plot will house a $19 million, 35,575-square-foot building designed by Rees Associates and constructed by Wynn Construction – which is expected to be completed in 2026.

MAPS 4 initiative brings new home for Palomar Family Justice Center

Victims and survivors of domestic violence will soon have access to expanded resources and a brand-new facility as Palomar, Oklahoma City’s Family Justice Center, is nearing groundbreaking on their new location. Approved as part of MAPS 4, Palomar’s new state-of-the-art facility will be located just across the street from their current location at 11th & Hudson.
