OKC metro unemployment at 2.8% in May

The Oklahoma City metro area posted a preliminary unemployment rate of 2.8% in May, up from a revised 2.4% in April. Despite the monthly increase, the metro continues a 46-month streak of unemployment below 4%, the longest such run in the city’s modern history.

Mint Turbines announced the launch of its T700 Test Cell, providing faster, more cost-effective turbine testing for key industries. It is one of only four test cells globally and the only one in the U.S. outside GE approved for T700 engine testing.

OKC ranks fifth lowest in cost of living among U.S. urban areas

The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) has released its Quarter 1 2025 Cost of Living Index. Among the 251 urban areas surveyed, the after-tax cost for a professional or managerial lifestyle ranged from more than twice the national average in New York (Manhattan) to more than 20% below the national average in Harlingen, Texas.
