OKC among top U.S. metros where young adults can afford homes

Oklahoma City ranks sixth in the nation for the share of adults under 30 who have a mortgage, according to a Visual Capitalist report based on LendingTree’s 2024 credit analysis. The data shows 5.7% of adults under 30 in OKC hold a mortgage, placing the city ahead of larger metros such as San Antonio, Hartford and Virginia Beach.

The Eddie to bring apartments, retail and green space to Midtown

Momentum continues to build in Midtown as “The Eddie,” a new mixed-use development, moves toward construction in 2026. The project, located on the former EMSA headquarters site at 1111 Classen Drive, will feature apartments, retail space and a public park with an amphitheater, adding a new layer of vibrancy to one of Oklahoma City’s most walkable districts.
