Oklahoma Film and Music Day at the Capitol spotlights local industries

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), in partnership with Cherokee Film, Oklahoma City Film and Creative Industries Office and the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture, is proud to present Oklahoma Film and Music Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, April 1. Held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second-floor rotunda of the Oklahoma State Capitol, this free event will bring together state legislators, local film and music professionals, businesses and related organizations to highlight the impact of the state’s film and music industries.

OKC to celebrate completion of Britton District streetscape project

Oklahoma City will celebrate the completion of a $6.6 million streetscape, sidewalk and bike lane improvement project in the historic Britton District with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 27 at 11 a.m. on the east corner of Francis Avenue and Britton Road, led by Mayor David Holt.

Plaza District Celebrates 25 Years with Annual Festival, Local Art and Music

The Plaza District will host its 25th Annual Plaza District Festival on Saturday, September 28, from noon to 10 p.m. at 1700 Block of NW 16th St. The 25th Annual Plaza District Festival coincides with Plaza Walls Mural Expo, a rotating mural project celebrating nine years with over 40 new murals by local artists. Plaza Walls is managed by Oklahoma Mural Syndicate, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization promoting and creating public art in Oklahoma.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma celebrates 60th anniversary season

Following the completion of its season add-on, “Big River: Theatre for Young Audiences Version,” Lyric Theatre is now preparing for its main stretch of performances through the fall. An additional add-on, the theatre’s 13th annual production of “A Christmas Carol” will be held during the holiday season.

Compete for a cause at the 40th Annual Redbud Classic

The Classic will celebrate its 40th anniversary with 10- and 30-mile bike tours, a 50-mile fondo, one-mile kid’s run, 10K run, 5K run and a one-mile “Woof Walk” for dogs on its first day. The second day of events will include a two-mile walk and baby stroller derby, 5K wheelchair and pushchair event, team fitness challenges and Redbud BASH.
