OKC taking steps to reduce homelessness

Oklahoma City’s approach to homelessness and what further steps are needed to help combat this pervasive problem has been a topic of debate and discussion for some time. Of the 16 projects included in MAPS 4, several aim to reduce and eventually eliminate homelessness in Oklahoma City, including a $50 million investment in true affordable housing.

Construction underway on final MAPS 3 senior wellness center

Earlier this summer, Oklahoma City officials broke ground on the fourth and final Senior Health and Wellness Center as part of MAPS 3. Located just south of SW 134th and Western, the center will provide health and fitness programs and opportunities for people 50 and over.

Paycom Center new name for downtown arena, renovations could start soon

Downtown Oklahoma City will be even greener in the near future as the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder and Paycom recently announced a 15-year partnership agreement that will give the Oklahoma City company exclusive naming rights to the downtown arena. The arena will now be known as Paycom Center.

"From Statehood to the Suburbs," a new three-part online docuseries featuring Dr. Bob Blackburn that tells the fascinating story of the boom, bust and resurgence of Oklahoma City and her neighborhoods, will stream at 7 p.m. on three consecutive nights beginning Monday, May 17th through Wednesday, May 19th.
