Stephenson Cancer Center performs brachytherapy, receives $1 million to support prostate cancer awareness

An OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center surgical and medical team has performed its first brachytherapy procedure for brain tumor, a process in which radioactive “seeds” are implanted around the edges of the tumor site after it has been removed. It is the first known such surgery in the state. Anonymous supporters have also provided $1 million to support the Center's prostate cancer awareness efforts.

ACS breaks ground on Chad Richison Hope Lodge

The American Cancer Society recently broke ground on the Chad Richison Hope Lodge, a facility that will offer cancer patients and their caregivers free lodging while they travel to receive care from any of the area’s premier medical centers. The $16.7 million facility is named in recognition of ACS's capstone donor, Chad Richison.
