We know a daily high temperature of 65 degrees doesn’t make you want to ice skate, but this week is your last chance to try it out in downtown Oklahoma City. The Devon Ice Rink closes Sunday. Also this week, our friends at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum open a new exhibit, Warhol and the West. Speaking of the west, buckin’ bulls will be in downtown on Friday and Saturday for the PBR tour. Check out all the other events happening this week.
The Dr. Seuss classic, “The Cat In The Hat,” comes to life this week at Lyric Theatre in the Plaza District, with performances every day starting Thursday. The Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra takes you on an adventure on Friday and Saturday, with a live performance of the music from “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Oh and don’t miss the free admission day at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum on Saturday, sponsored by the OKC Thunder. See what else you can do this week as we wind down the first month of 2020.
Miss Saigon opens today at the Civic Center, brought to the city by OKC Broadway. On Thursday, there are two options to take in some art. And this weekend, get ideas on sprucing up your home or our yard at the annual OKC Home + Garden Show. See what else there is to do this week.
Things might be slowing down after the holiday season, but there’s still OKC Thunder games to watch at the Chesapeake Arena and a comedy show to see at the Tower Theatre. For those of you that are fans of John Wayne, be sure to get a ticket for A Date With the Duke, hosted by our friends at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. You can put 2019 behind you with a celebration in downtown or visit our friends at Tower Theatre at the Uptown Get Down. There are still holiday-related festivities happening if you didn’t make it to them yet, such as Illuminations at Myriad Gardens and snow tubing at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. See what else you can do this week while staying warm.
It’s the last week of the year, but there’s still plenty to do. From snow tubing to an OKC Thunder game, we give you several options to fight the after-Christmas boredom. Just be sure to double check the hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. See what’s happening in OKC this week.
