Our history books will look back at 2021 as a time when we made major leaps forward, particularly in our rise as a visitor destination.
Everywhere you go right now the inability of companies to find the employees they need is a hot topic of conversation. Like many trends, I believe the COVID pandemic has merely accelerated an issue already occurring in our community.
Since 1941, the Oklahoma City community has understood the importance of Tinker AFB to our region’s economy. Protecting its assets and putting the base in an ideal position to attract additional work has consistently been a top goal of the Chamber.
I am not sure there is another major metro that is bouncing out of the pandemic with as much energy and enthusiasm as we are right here.
To grow our economy and set the stage for long-term growth, it is absolutely vital that we keep filling the pipeline with new ideas, innovation and new companies with growth potential.
Oklahoma County’s journey of criminal justice reform began in late 2015 when the Chamber convened a task force to dig deep into our system to better understand where reform was possible and ultimately make significant strides in improving our county’s jail and detention center.
Our most recent survey was a strong reminder that businesses are feeling the effects of the pandemic in different ways, with the most common trait being the shared concern for employees and customers.
