Construction begins on Better Streets trails

Construction began this week for one of the 13 trails included in the Better Streets program. Deep Fork Trail begins on Grand Boulevard where the Katy Trail ends, just south of I-44 and Grand Boulevard, a quarter mile south of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The trail will continue west of the Deep Fork River over Western Avenue and under I-44, connecting to the Grand Boulevard Trail that currently ends on the ramp to westbound I-44.

Oklahoma City Thunder and Devon Energy partner on new community court

Chamber members, Oklahoma City Thunder and Devon Energy will partner to present a new community basketball court as a part of the lower Scissortail Park opening. The new court dedication will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23. It will be the 30th court dedicated to the Oklahoma community by the Thunder, the fourth alongside Devon Energy.

Oklahoma City will host USA Softball GOLD National Championships for second consecutive year

The “Softball Capital of the World” will host the nation’s next class of athletes as the USA Softball GOLD National Championships return to Oklahoma City for the second consecutive year. Divisions of teams for 16-year-old players and younger, as well as 18-year-old players and younger, will compete for the GOLD National Champion title at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.
